In India, most of the festivals symbolises the victory of good over evil in one way or another. But the most important one that marks this victory is Dussehra. It is celebrated exactly 20 days preceding Diwali. According to the Hindu calendar,.Dussehra or Vijayadashmi is celebrated across the country on the 10th day of the bright fortnight of the month of Ashwin.

Dussehra is one of the major Hindu festivals. It is celebrated because Shri Ram killed the demon King Ravana.after a 9-day battle with him and.freed his wife Goddess Sita from Ravana’s captivity. It is also on this very day that Goddess Durga killed the demon Mahishasura. So this day is also celebrated as Vijayadashami. People pray and seek blessings from Goddess Durga too on this day.

Dussehra is preceded by a nine nights festival – Navratri. The word Navratri comes from ‘nav’ meaning nine and ‘ratri’ meaning nights. Navratri is also popularly known as the festival of dance. It is probably the longest dance festival in the world.

Traditionally, there are group dances in villages &.towns called Garba accompanied by live orchestra, seasonal raga or devotional songs. It is a folk dance where people of different backgrounds and skills join and form concentric circles. The circles can grow or shrink, reaching sizes of 100s,.sometimes 1000s of people, dancing and clapping in circular moves at the same time. These people adorn their traditional costumes.

The two things that we love doing apart from creating AMAZING stuff is dancing and celebrating life. This year too we had a garba night on the 18th October to celebrate the festival. The evening began with the GRA team gathering around for the Chhota Bheem Kung Fu Dhamaka trailer launch. Everyone was overjoyed to see their hard work being finally released for the world to see. Then there were some Garba performances by our GRA dance teams. It was followed by all of us joining in for Garba. Later after some snacks, we all bade goodbye for the weekend. The day ended at a jolly good note!
