“A true friend walks in when everyone else walks out”

Friendship day is the one day of the year which never fails to bring back our good old school memories. We are suddenly thrown back to the time when evenings before Friendship day were filled with roaming around all the shops searching for the perfect friendship band ribbons.

It seems trivial now but at that time it seemed like the most important thing to do. Also always buying that one special and not to mention slightly more expensive friendship band for our best friend.

Furthermore our lunch breaks on Friendship Day consisted of running around all classes and tying the bands to our friend. Our lunch boxes lay forgotten on this day. Finally at the end of the day, counting the number of bands used to be the highlight of all. Those were the days filled with pure innocence.

“From counting the number of friends to counting followers, we grew up.”

It is not possible to turn back time but our Events Organizing team decided to so something similar to remind us of our childhood days.

Yellow and white being colours of friendship, we were asked to dress in either of the two colours. We had friendship bands for our friends at GRA. We played musical chairs to relive the childhood days. To top it all there was also a counting done in the end just for old times sake. A special message was put up for us to write messages for our friends anonymously.

It seemed like there were no stones left unturned by our organizing team to ensure that we celebrated this day just like we did during childhood. We all felt carefree as a child after so many years. It was indeed a Happy Friendship Day for us GRA folks!
