Diwali is celebrated on the new moon night of the month ‘Ashwin’ of the Hindu Calendar. On this day, Lord Ram returned with his wife Sita and brother Laxman. Since their day of arrival was a new moon night, people of Ayodhya lit up ‘diyas’ (oil lamps) outside their houses to drive away the darkness and welcome their beloved King. Thereafter, Diwali is always celebrated by lighting up ‘diyas’ and lamps everywhere. It is also known as the festival of lights.

Diwali is that time of the year when the whole office gets together to actively decorate the studio like a family. Each team decorated their bays with lights and paper lanterns. There were lights and colors everywhere.

It was LIT... literally!😝

Creative rangolis were made with flowers and colourful sand. The teams also decorated ‘diyas’ in vibrant shades and patterns. The studio was lit up like a lantern. It was breathtaking sight!

A competition was also held for the Best Dressed Male & Female. All the participants sported Indian ethnic in a beautiful way. Finally, Sundar Mudaliyar from Admin and Dhanashree Puranik from Texturing sweeped away the title. The day celebrated the spirit of the festival with great zeal and synergy.

A small ’puja’  was performed for Goddess Lakshmi (the Hindu Deity of wealth and prosperity). This ‘puja’  is a performed to pray and seek the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. After the ‘puja’, the diwali gifts were given to all. Soon everyone bade goodbye for the short vacation marking the end of the celebrations for the day.
